self-concept

I think that your self-concept is formed by other people and what others say about you and to you up to a point, and then i think that you form the rest on your own, good or bad. I think that as a child you are more molded by your parents and family and what they have to say to you and about you. Take for instance you are a kid that has a really crappy family, you can go with the good or go with the bad, you can ignore what ever people say even knowing that it is hard to do and have all the self confidence that you give your self and still turn out to be a great person with a good self concept and then you have people that can not do that and what people think about them can rule their lives! As a child i was always told that i could do anything i wanted to do and be anything that i wanted to be i know a lot of kids hear that but you know it really does touch you and make you feel good that you can and that people believe in your. I did not do much as a child i was never in sports or any activities, i was a very quiet child that had a smaller group of friends and felt that i never really fit in anywhere. I don't really know what even made me that way. My family was the greatest that i could have asked for and was always there for me. As i got a little older i made a few more friends when i actually hit elementary school, it was one of those things where everyone is friends with everyone and then you hit middle school and the cliques start and the labels all start coming out and unfortunatilly i was a nerd...lol...go figure and i have never really fit into anywhere just kinda into my own little group with my own little rebellious friends. Friends have a lot of impact on what you do and how you do things in your life also, teachers, almost anyone that has opionions can have an impact on your life!
